The team and morning briefing

Ray does his best each morning with his whiteboard maps to make sure that we don't get lost when travelling from one location to the next. We normally don't travel in convoy because people want to stop in different places for photos, shopping or diesel - this can lead to problems. Somehow, almost all of us managed to get lost when travelling from Meknes to Fez. David and I ended up on the wrong side of Fez in the rush hour and had to use the position of the sun to work our way back to the south of the city. We still couldn't find the right signs so I had to jump out of the cab and ask two young lads in my rather rusty French the way to the football stadium [the campsite was nearby]. Much to my surprise they understood me, and even more surprisingly, I understood their directions and we found our way to the site. Some people found a motorcyclist who was willing to lead them to the site [for a small payment!] As Ray has said several times, "You need to be able to think laterally when in Moroocco!"

  1. It's funny how the locals have got coats on but the Brits are in T-shirts and shorts
