Baboons in the cedar forest

We are now at Meski and on a  site with facilities again – just as well as most of the group have now been hit by the bug. This is Hamid’s village and he is certainly the man with contacts around here. We were greeted by “Benni”  who claimed to be a member of Hamid’s family, and who wanted us to visit his shop. We have also been made  camels from palm leaves by various children wanting sweets or payment in return [one is coming round later to collect a t-shirt later - I still haven’t got the hang of trading!

When we went up to the cafe later for the briefing we discovered that the man who introduced himself as Benni was an imposter trying to get us to go to his shop, the real Benni has a moustache!

More about Benni, later!

On the way to Meski, we drove through a cedar forest and were lucky enough to spot a family of baboons!
