Branching out

Zut alors! Imagine our surprise and embarrassment when, walking over the supermarket car park in Onzain, we noticed that our newly acquired satellelite dish, our pride and joy, was wreathed in a garland of greenery. We must have defrocked a tree when we moved over to pass two cyclists on a narrow country lane. There was no way we could reach it at that point so we travelled on [150 miles, in fact] feeling a bit like Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, resplendent with our arborial decorations.

Campsite at Limoges

It was a long drive down to Limousin but the campsite is well worth it - in the grounds of a chateau and with a pool. The rules for dogs are very strict, though...
At long last, we have better weather and were actually able to eat ouside the van last night. As those of you who have listened patiently will know, our main aim might be to reach Morocco but almost as important is to be able to sit OUTSIDE the van in WARM weather - after four years we've finally managed to do so for more than twenty minutes!

French Loos

We've all had our French loo experiences - here's another... We were sitting on a bench near the market in Onzain when I spotted a sign for a public loo. Feeling the need, I asked David to go in and investigate, not wanting to deal with holes in the ground etc. He had only been in there ten seconds when there was a piercing scream, followed by inconsolable wailing and two little girls came rushing out of the loos. They steadfastly refused to go back in despite the pleas of their mother. David meanwhile reappeared: "It wasn't me m'lud"! Apparently, this was one of those loos that  flushes as you come out and close the door. One little girl took her turn after the other and received a shower as the door closed behind her - poor little mite! At least, I was forewarned and able to use the conveniences in comparative safety.

Technical difficulties!

Sitting in a media library in Onzaine near the River Loire struggling to access this blog - on a French keyboard, French instructions and a forgotten password! Hopefully there now. Slowly travelling down through France,re-visiting some old haunts such as Neufchatel-en-Bray and Vendome. Presently camping on a farmsite amidst fields of sunflowers and maize. Have cycled down to the Loire today and found this place to do our blog. Will try and upload some photos from our USB - may or may not work!
